The Media-Arts Institute of Alabama (MAIA) designs creative entrepreneurial learning and training programs that inspires and gives today’s tech savvy youth the skills they need to express and share ideas in compelling ways.
Our programs help local youth become active authors and creators, not simply observers of digital content. Whether students learn skills in the context of music and film production, event planning, graphic design, web and mobile App design, our students are able to develop the technical and critical thinking skills they need to become college or career ready

Our Goal
To reverse the high school dropout epidemic in Alabama by creating engaging career technical training programs that empower students through entrepreneurial thinking and immerses them in entrepreneurial and collaboration experiences. Our programs are designed to reflect the reality of the changing workplace and local Huntsville technology business culture.
Our Strategy
To use the technology behind the passion of today’s youth i.e.; music, video, gaming, and the Internet to positively influence and improve their capacity for learning, creative expression and personal development. We give them mentors, technology tools and new experiences to develop creative ideas, improve critical thinking skills, explore career options, build transferable skills and access multiple paths to success.
